Position Summary:
The Registered Vascular Technologist performs technical functions relating to the preparation and
performance of diagnostic peripheral vascular studies and neurovascular studies. Assists with
quality assurance and control standards.

Core Job Responsibilities:
·Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves
to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones. Assist physicians with
pseudoaneurysm closures and OR procedures.
·Perform ultrasound procedures, color doppler vascular examinations, visceral vascular studies
and color-flow ultrasound as required maintaining patient records and documentation.
·Positively responds and implements change when needed and has good decision-making
skills.
·Assists with quality control and maintenance of all equipment in the area
·Properly utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, cleaning systems, warmers,
scanners, printers, and PACS workstations
·Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient
condition to medical staff. Provide a written summary of preliminary findings to the vascular reader.
Evaluate quality of exams. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated
and discuss with physician.
·Assists in training of new staff and of students during clinical rotations
·Follows, maintains and helps implement hospital and departmental policies and procedures
·Consistently communicates with patients, guests, staff and physicians in a positive manner
·Knowledgeable of compliance and regulatory requirements and adheres to Federal, State,
accrediting bodies, and standard practice of care for patients, staff, guests and facilities
·Adheres to departmental procedures and protocols
·Rotating call for after hours and weekends
·Works as a team member with peers and other departments. Responds calmly and efficiently to
situations.
·Regularly attend departmental meeting, in-services and actively participate in continuing
education activities
·Other duties as requested by supervisor or manager
·May be assigned to cover additional shifts as required to meet departmental needs

The Position:
The ultrasound technologist will perform venous duplex exams including but not limited to venous insufficiency, demonstrating venous valvular reflux, and diameters, as well as DVT rule out studies and assisting in ultrasound guided venous procedures.
The procedures and ultrasounds will be performed in office under direction of the physician. As an ultrasound technologist you will, work closely with our physicians, mid-level providers and other members of the office presenting data and images for interpretation.
Techs will also be cross trained to assist providers in cosmetic procedures like Botox and Facial Fillers.
The Responsibilities:
Prepares equipment and assists physicians during physical exams and medical procedures
Provides patient education
Performs Diagnostic Ultrasound studies checking for the following: varicose veins, superficial venous incompetence of the lower extremities, examination of DVT
Assist in set-up and cleanup of treatment rooms
Assist provider in the treatment of superficial venous incompetence with Endovenous and/or Radio Frequency Ablations
Maintain equipment and supply inventory
Triage patient phone inquiries according to physician and/or departmental protocols and documents such actions in patients' medical records
Follows vascular lab protocol to identify and record required images and document accurate preliminary reports for referring providers.
Maintain safe, HIPPA compliant, clean, and organized work environment for co-workers, visitors, patients, and physicians
Assist providers with aesthetic/cosmetic/hormone replacement procedures.
All other duties as assigned
The Requirements:
Experience working alongside a physician during minimally invasive vascular procedures is a plus
Will follow vascular lab protocol to identify and record required images and document accurate preliminary reports for referring providers.
Responsible for performing the full spectrum of vascular services offered through the in-house Vein Center including upper and lower extremity venous, venous reflux, post-ablation, and ultrasound-guided perforator injection exams.
Highly professional, personable, and must share our commitment to patient care and service
Experience with vein mapping preferred.
Must have graduated from an accredited vascular technology program and have obtained one of the following credentials: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Register Vascular Specialist (RVS), or Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS)
Must be up to date on CPR/BLS Certification.
Have a flexible schedule to grow with this company and be able and willing to travel to multiple locations in the state
